COP21 IN PARIS SUCCESSFULLY DELIVERS THE NEW CLIMATE DEAL

The 21st session of the UnitedNations Framework Convention
on Climate Change(UNFCCC) Conference, COP21,which took place in Paris, closed
on December 12th, 2015 with theadoption of the Paris Agreement,the new global deal created tostrengthen the response to thethreat of climate change [2].
Closing more than 4 years of negotiationslaunched in Durban in
2011, the aim of the conferencewas to “develop a protocol, anotherlegal instrument or an agreedoutcome with legal force underthe Convention applicable to allParties” starting from 2020 [3].High expectations were confirmedby the wide participation
in le Bourget, Paris : nearly 23,100government delegates, 9,400representatives from inter- andnon-governmental organizations,and 3,700 media members attended
the conference, for a totalof over 36,000 people.
